Nicholas Ray Gibbs, age 25, passed away on December 6, 2006 in Ar Ramadi, Iraq and was born August 9, 1981 to Debbie Halstead & Michael Gibbs in Greensboro, NC.
Nicholas was raised in Oak Ridge, NC and lived his adult life in Oak Ridge, NC & Stokesdale, NC.
Nicholas is survived by his mother, Debbie, father, Mike, sister Erica, step-father,Charlie, step-mother, Karen, step-sister, Heather, step-brothers, Roland, Logan & Wesley.
Nicholas graduated from Northwest High School with the class of 2000.
Nicholas served as a Sgt. in the Army from November 4, 2003 to December 6, 2006.
Nicholas’ hobbies, interests, or activities included: football, soccer, racing but I’d have to say basketball was his favorite. If it was a sport, he pretty much loved it.
Nicholas will always be remembered as the best son any parent could ever wish for, best brother, & best friend. He always had a smile on his face that was contagious to others. He was always ready to help a friend or comrade in arms. He will forever be sorely missed.
