Helen L. Kirchner

Helen Louise Neff Kirchner went to be with the Lord August 6, 2008, in the St. Lucie Medical Center in Port Saint Lucie, Florida. Helen was born in Altoona, Pa, and was raised in Warrior’s Mark, Pa. Her parents were Edna and Stewart Neff of Warrior’s Mark, and both are deceased.

Helen attended Greir School for Girls in Warrior’s Mark and graduated as a music major in education. She loved to play the piano, and everyone enjoyed her talents, especially in her later years.

Helen worked at Raub’s Supply in Lancaster as an accounts payable clerk for twenty-five years before her retirement in 1991. There she worked with two of her closest friends, Doris and Suzanne. She truly did love her job. Her retirement years were spent with her family. She lived with her daughter, Louise, in Lancaster, Pa., her sister, Dorathy, in Orbizonia, Pa., and visited her son Jim in Virginia.

Helen took a 23-state tour of the United States before moving with her son to Port Saint Lucie, Fl. There she continued to appreciate and enjoy nature. One of the highlights of living in Florida for her was to be able to walk outside the front of the house to watch the shuttle launches. Her least favorite thing about Florida was the hurricanes!

She is survived by a son, Col. F. James Kirchner of Montpelier, Va., her daughter Louise Crowe of Lancaster, Pa., and her son John S. Kirchner of Port Saint Lucie, Fl., her sister, Dorathy Ott of Winchester, Va., and her brother Edwin Neff of Warrior’s Mark, Pa., four grandchildren-Carrie Adams of Neffsville, Pa., Chad Crowe of Mt. Joy, Pa., Christopher Crowe of New Jersey, Penny Hanky of Montpelier, Va., -and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frances X. Kirchner and her brother, Donald Neff. Helen and Frances were long time residents of New Providence, Pa.

There will be a private memorial service for Helen at a future time.

With trust in a loving God forever.
