Doris Ellen Miller, 82, of Fort Washington, died April 8, 2008, at Kindred Hospital in Havertown. She was 82.

She was the wife of Marlin J. Miller for over 61 years. She was born in Bethlehem to the late Robert M. and Margaret F. (Samler) May.

Mrs. Miller was a graduate of Olney High School, Class of 1944. She was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Miller was a member of Fort Washington Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary since 1955 and was past treasurer for many years. In her younger years, she was a Girl Scout troop leader and assistant. She also formerly volunteered at the school library at the old Fort Washington Elementary School.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Carol A. Miller and Marilyn J. Miller, both of Fort Washington, and Gail E. Walter of Blue Bell; and three grandchildren (Christopher, Michelle, & David).

A funeral service was held April 12 at the Emil J. Ciavarelli Family Funeral Homes, Ambler. Interment will be in Whitemarsh Memorial Park.

Memorial donations in her name may be made to the Sgt. James Miller Memorial Fund, c/o Upper Dublin Police, 801 Loch Alsh Avenue, Fort Washington, PA 19034.
