This web site was created in memory of Donald “Dino” Henciak who passed away too soon. Dino was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, but called Hollywood Beach, Florida home. “Dino, the man, the legend” was one of a kind. Known alternately as “the mayor of Hollywood Beach,” or “the Kahuna” he was renown in the community as a generous, kind, funny, supportive soul.
Hollywood was Dino’s “paradise” and on July 14th, 2008 a memorial was held in his honor where family and friends gathered to celebrate his extraordinary life. He will be missed by many and one day just isn’t enough to capture all that could be said about Dino – a fixture in this beach community. This web site was created to allow his many friends to contribute photos, stories and other memories for all to share.
Dino is survived by his sister Jean and brother Bernie…

Uncle Don was my personal Jack Kerouac. His unscripted arrivals were always welcome surprises in the otherwise predictable years of my boyhood. It was a holiday, a bit of magic to have him visit with news from the road, a few good stories, and as always, the recommendation that I should live by my own standard, while respecting the personal freedom of others. He inspired me to get out and see the world, to find my place, my paradise, but more importantly, he showed me that the life of an individual can never be dull. He taught me that with humor, compassion and curiosity, life could be rich indeed. Thanks Uncle Don, I truly wouldn't be the man I've become if not for your example... I'll miss you! |

Dino and I were best buddies for the past 15 years. During that time I sometimes blew off some of his sayings I called Dinoysms. But as years passed I came to realize that he stated those sayings from past experiences and he tried hard to push me to enjoy what I had and appreciate today and look forward to tomorrow. Therefore I am going to try to do just that. I wish I could have told him that before He passed. So in closing, Dino taught me a lot about different handy man skills and more about life. I will be forever grateful. I hope I can follow his lead for the rest of my life until we meet again for a happy hour eternity. Rest in peace Dino, Lobo |

I went to school with Donnie and I can only remember him as a quiet, gentle person. Never in trouble and well liked by the whole class.

I met Dino about 6 years ago. We became great "Buddies" as we called it, he was always telling me "if I was 20 years younger Deb"!!!! He'd usually start a project in the morning right outside my room, so I'd have no choice but get up and start my day. He'd get his work done or I'd help him and then we'd be off to start our happy hour. We' spend afternoons together, he even got me to ride a bike when he was riding his. We took a few bus trips to the circle. No matter what it was, it always ended up the same, both of us happy, laughing and "Fluckered Up", as he would call it just in time for Brian to come home. I have so many happy memories of Dino and I thank God for allowing me the times I spent with him. I could write a book. I love you Dino! |

Dino always ready with a "How you doing Cap!" I had the pleasure of throwing his bike in the back of my truck on many occassions.
